Kanye West has hit out at the “Kardashian mob” in a scathing new rant on social media. The controversy adds to the long history of public disputes between the rapper and his former in-laws, which have intensified since their divorce was finalized.

The ‘Stronger’ rapper – who has four children with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian – has accused his former partner and her family of limiting his access to the kids and now allowing him to make key decisions about their upbringing – comparing it to being in prison. Co-parenting disputes between high-profile celebrities often attract significant media attention, with custody arrangements becoming increasingly complex.

“Yes I have beef with people that froze my account, took my kids away and have tried to put me in jail and IT’S STUCK …” In a series of posts on X – formerly known as Twitter – Kanye wrote. His comments have garnered widespread attention on the platform, with fans divided in their reactions.

“I don’t want to just ‘see’ my kids. I need to raise them. I need to have say so of where they go to school and who their friends are and whose houses they sleep over whether my daughters wear lipstick and perfume …” Parental rights regarding decision-making authority remain a contentious issue in many high-profile custody cases, particularly concerning lifestyle choices.

“All these rights have been taken away from my by the Kardashian mob, Hulu and Disney and the biggest agenda to use the selectively bred Black children to be platforms to influence Black people.” His reference to media companies highlights the complex intersection between family disputes and entertainment industry interests in celebrity culture.

He added: “Just seeing my kids is like visitation. It’s like I’m in prison ‘seeing’ my kids. I don’t care if I live or die or if I’m in jail or free … ” Maintaining meaningful parent-child relationships following divorce can be challenging, with visitation schedules often becoming points of contention.

Kim and Kanye were married between 2014 and 2022 and they are parents to North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, six, and Psalm, five. Their divorce was finalized after a lengthy legal process that involved negotiations over their substantial combined assets.

Kanye‘s latest rant came after he threatened to “go to war” with Kim after she seemingly objected to North’s voice being featured on a new song called ‘Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine’ which also features jailed rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is behind bars awaiting trial on charges including sex trafficking. Child performance and recording rights remain legally complex, especially when parents disagree.

The rapper posted a screenshot of a text conversation seemingly between him and Kim in which they argued over trademarks of their children’s names and Kanye finished by writing to his ex: “Amend it or we’re going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fall out. The business aspects of children’s identities have become increasingly important in the digital age, with celebrity parents often securing trademarks for their children’s names.

“You’re going to have to kill me”. This provocative statement has raised concerns about the emotional impact of such public disputes.

The Mail Online has since reported Kim has taken legal action in a bid to block the song’s release and to have it taken down from X after Kanye posted it on the social media platform. Intellectual property disputes involving minors often involve complex legal considerations regarding parental consent and commercial exploitation.

Legal experts note that custody arrangements typically outline specific parameters regarding children’s media appearances and commercial activities. The involvement of children in creative projects can be particularly contentious when parents have differing views on publicity and career development.

Family therapists have expressed concern about the impact of such public disputes on children, suggesting that parental conflicts played out in media can have lasting psychological effects. Children exposed to high-conflict divorces may experience increased stress and adjustment difficulties.

The ongoing feud highlights the challenges of co-parenting in the public eye, where personal disputes can quickly become media spectacles. Celebrity divorce attorneys often recommend keeping family matters private, though social media platforms have made this increasingly difficult.

Industry insiders suggest that the involvement of a co-parenting coordinator or family therapist could potentially help mediate such high-profile disputes. Alternative dispute resolution methods are becoming more common in celebrity divorces to avoid protracted public legal battles.
