Having over a million Twitter followers has landed the “Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” NeNe Leakes brand in scorching hot water. It appears that the nightmare isn’t over for the newlywed reality TV and Hollywood starlet who remarried Gregg Leakes.
As reported earlier, luxury-wedding planner Tiffany Nieves-Cook filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit that was tabloid fodder. This week, her attorney raised the stakes.
“We filed an amended complaint to add claims for libel, defamation of character, invasion of privacy – false light, and punitive damages, specifically against NeNe Leakes, for [statements] that were directed at my client after the lawsuit was filed. That’s the basis for the amended complaint, adding specific defamation claims against NeNe Leakes,” offers Reginald Greene, managing attorney of Greene Legal Group LLC, in a telephone interview.
Leakes’ public responses to the claims via the über-popular social media site, Twitter, has fueled Cook and her dream team attorneys’ fire.
The infamous wedding will air on the Bravo mini-series “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding” starting Tuesday, Sep. 17, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET.
