Lil Boosie released
Lil Boosie is officially a free man. According to prison officials, the rapper, real name Torrence Hatch, was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.
After leaving the prison Boosie was taken to a sheriff’s department facility in St. Francisville to be greeted by family and friends.
Boosie was incarcerated in 2009 and was sentenced to eight years on drug charges. In 2012 he went on trial for murder after being accused of orchestrating a murder for hire plot but was found not guilty. Lawyers for Boosie were able to have his eight-year sentence greatly reduced and his official release date was set for May 20, 2014.
