Just like he sang in his first big hit, “Lost Without You,” Robin Thicke has made it no secret that he really is lost without the love of his life, his estranged wife, Paula Patton. He also hasn’t been shy about publicly singing about his broken heart and how he wants his wife, who separated from him in February, to come back. Now, reports are claiming that Thicke will make another big attempt to win Patton back at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards.
According to TMZ, Thicke has written a new song called, “Get Her Back,” a deeply personal ode to his undying love for Patton. The report claims that Thicke will perform the song on May 18, at the “Billboard Music Awards” on ABC.
TMZ claims to have already gotten a copy of the songs lyrics and say that it’s drenched in melancholy and regret. These are some of the lyrics that Thicke will croon about his remorse to his lost love:
— “All I wanna do is make it right”
— “I gotta get her, go get her back / I gotta treat her right / I gotta cherish her for life”
— “I should’ve kissed you longer / I should’ve held you stronger / And I’ll wait for forever for you.”
Well, we’re curious to see how Patton will respond to Thicke’s harmonic pleas, especially since she just revealed to Vanity Fair that there’s a deep love between her and Thicke that will never go away. – nicholas robinson
