On the eve of Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports hosting their inaugural Throne Boxing event at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, to be shown exclusively on Fox Sports 1, rolling out caught up with hip-hop artist and Roc Nation client Fabolous, who will perform during the event, and DJ Mustard, who will be spinning at the weigh-in, which will be held at the 40/40 Club.
Fabolous will be rocking the crowd, but is he a boxing fan? “I’m a big boxing fan. I’ve been watching boxing since I was a kid, since [the] Mike Tyson era, Sugar Ray Leonard era,” Fab said before adding, “Mayweather is carrying on the tradition, he’s like the star of boxing, [but] his reign is almost over, so there is going to be a new star of boxing.”
Could a future star of boxing hit the ring tonight for Roc Nation Sports? Only time will tell.
Fabolous, who recently signed with Roc Nation Sports, talked about his excitement of performing at the first ever Roc Nation Sports boxing event.
“2015 is a new journey for me starting with Roc Nation, so it’s dope to be able to be a part of that and come out and perform for that,”he said.
DJ Mustard is also excited to rock his first-ever boxing crowd. “I’m looking forward to it. I’m just excited to be involved,” he said.
You can also expect some big stars to show up for Throne Boxing on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, including the boss of Roc Nation and Roc Nation Sports, Jay Z; as well as Rihanna, and dozens of stars from the worlds of boxing, sports and entertainment. If you are in New York City, good luck getting a last-minute ticket for the event, and for those elsewhere, tune in to FOX Sports 1 tonight at 10 p.m.
