The Rich Kids of Instagram: Obnoxious or Inspiring?

Social media platforms have given the average person the ability to promote their opinions and share personal pictures. A specific Tumblr page called the Rich Kids of Instagram, has recently caught the attention of the media due to its lavish submissions. Affluent children post pictures of themselves and their friends spending more money in a day than many people earn in one year. Though some may consider the site obnoxious, perhaps it’s a great way to inspire other teenagers to strive for greatness instead of watching it online.

Take a look at the Rich Kids of Instagram.

  1. These kids are exactly as you describe, they are kids. They will never grow up to be real people and will always have someone to wipe their tushy. It’s to bad they like the smell of there own farts. One of these kids could have the ability to change or better this world but they rather be shellfish. We will never move up if we keep having people push and pull you down. We should boycott these children to where they won’t receive any encouragement to be douches.

  2. That’s a rather narrow definition of “greatness” you have there, Renee. So you’re saying the only way to achieve greatness is to be rich and flaunt it shamelessly in front of others, while that money can be used to help other people in the world? Please note different people have different definitions of success/greatness, so don’t paint people with the same brush.

Inspiring? Who are you kidding? Do you think these kids earn the money themselves? Please. Most (if not all) of them are merely riding on their parents’ coattails.
