'Next' Performs at ATL LIVE on the Park's One-Year Anniversary

ATLANTA —  ATL LIVE on the Park, a monthly music showcase featuring live music from established and emerging artists, celebrated its one-year anniversary Tuesday evening, May 10, at the Park Tavern on the edge of Piedmont Park. The popular event is the brain-child of music producer and author Shanti Das and promoter and Das’ business partner Martin Nichols.

To celebrate, the show featured live performances that included Fonzworth Bentley, Jive recording artist Jawan Harris, hip-hop duo Big Heed & Alien and an exciting reunion of R&B group Next. More than 200 music industry professionals and guests were in attendance.

Celebrity sightings included Sheree Whitfield, Bob Whitfield, Tameka Raymond, Ron Devoe, Devyne Stephens and Q Parker.

Good food, music and a classy atmosphere were all guests needed to enjoy themselves under softly lit outdoor tents at the Park Tavern. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and the champagne was flowing.

Aside from the performances, the fashions at the event were “spot on.” Guests smiled for the camera, bringing their A-game with summer maxi dresses and well-tailored suits. They also let us in on their personal style preferences and their favorite social networks.

Comfort and fun seem to be setting the fashion tone for the summer, and Facebook is still giving Twitter a run for its … tweets. Enjoy the photos below from ATL LIVE on the Park. The next showcase is scheduled for June 14. –mckenzie harris and tammie reed
