Guzmangarza charged a woman $3,000 to perform liposuction and he also treated the woman’s daughter for acne during the visit, says Stephanie Ong Stillman of the San Francisco District Attorney’s office.
During the procedure, Guzmangarza doped the woman with anesthesia and had her hold her own IV bag as he “operated.” Guzmangaraza returned later to show his patient a 6-pound bag of fat that he said came from the woman’s body.
The victim suffered an infection and had to see a real doctor and that’s when she discovered that hell no, Guzmangaraza wasn’t a surgeon, and even worse, she didn’t lose six pounds.
Guzmangarza was arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license, impersonation and assault. He was held on $750,000 bail and faces up to 12 years in prison.
