How did you get into the industry?
I started with an interest in cosmetology. At the age 17, I got my first entry level job at Dillard’s in South Carolina at Clinique. Once you get into the beauty industry, we’re like a close-knit family, and literally you cannot leave; I’ve been in it for 13 years now.
What is your day-to-day schedule like?
My day-to-day is about goals to be quite honest with you. Meeting daily goals, monthly goals, seasonal goals, and planning events corporately and with my vendor, Guerlain. We’re more focused on social networking now, so that is also my [daily] focus.
Why did you choose to work for the Guerlain brand?
Guerlain is the oldest, most experienced, cosmetics brand in the world; it’s 186-years-old, we’re one of the only luxury companies that are not associated with clothing, handbags or shoes.
Companies like Chanel, Yves St. Lauren, they have cosmetics brands, and for the most part they mimic their brands with the runway and the seasonal trends; but Guerlain is top-notch, and it’s just beauty.
We have a phenomenal skin care range, and beautiful fragrances, we’ve produced hundreds of fragrances worldwide. We are just a phenomenal company that’s authentic.
