U.S. Army staff sergeant Terry Achane, 31, of Texas is in the fight of his life. He’s seeking to reverse a decision his wife made independently of him while he was out of town on a job assignment. His wife, Tira, was pregnant with his first-born daughter, whom he hoped to name Teleah, when he left to work out of state in Fort Jackson, S.C. When Achane, a drill instructor, returned 10 days later, he found out his wife had delivered prematurely and signed their daughter over to Jared and Kristi Frei, of Spanish Fork, Utah.
