NFL stars react to Jovan Belcher murder-suicide as girlfriend is buried

The shocking tragedy of Jovan Belcher, who murdered his girlfriend and then journeyed to the Kansas City Chiefs facility to commit suicide in front of his coaches, jarred everyone who heard the news, inside and outside the sporting world.

As family and friends prepared to bury Belcher’s girlfriend, 22-year-old Kassandra Perkins, in Blue Ridge, Texas, NFL players have expressed their horror, sadness of the inexplicable episode and tried to place everything in its proper perspective.
