So the fact that we may not like or appreciate the sentiment or the approach from other young hustlers who are spitting lyrics and misogynistic raps, keep in mind that owning ones business and owning ones future is tantamount to owning ones style. And the fact is that if you are not listening to the lyrical quality or taking away the value inherent in “rolling around getting it” than maybe you are missing the whole point of the song. The point is that even if you have the gold, you need more.
So to Trinidad James and to 2 Chainz, big ups to people thinking about the aspects of the material and economic progress and motivating a community. We should patronoze only those vendor, merchants and businesses recognize our economic power.
Rolling around getting it in a capitalistic society means we are stacking some gold and saving money so that we visit a few more places that have good intentions when it comes to African American us doing anything but giving out money to thenm and them not sharing the wealth with us.
I am still waiting for the rapper who clearly would like to graduate from college or encourage others too. I am waiting for the rapper who clearly wants to be conscientious about his or her music and it’s content.
So the winner in terms of offering new ideas and stacking gold is Trinidad James.
Entertainment doesn’t always intersect with the realities of life, but sometimes it does. With Trinidad while we are moving to the music, listen to the message and reflect on the moment.
