Rev. Run
When Run-D.M.C. released “Down With the King” in 1993, most of their fan base didn’t quite catch the subtle religious references. But the following year, frontman Joseph “Run” Simmons became an ordained minister and changed his stage name to “Rev. Run.” In the years since, he’s written self-help books and starred in a reality show; and has recently resumed performing profanity-tinged shows with his old partner, D.M.C.
