Dr. John S. Wilson Jr. (c/o ’79), the newly minted president of Morehouse College, was met with rousing applause when he made a special announcement that President Barack Obama would be the 2013 commencement speaker. Securing our first African American president for this memorable occasion has positioned the new leader to span boundaries at the 146-year-old institution and serves as an example of Morehouse College’s value to the community.
As an alumnus it makes me proud to be among such intelligent brothers who choose to be significant and to serve by assuming the reins of leadership in varied industries around the country, being steadfast stewards of Morehouse’s ideals and tenets, and financial supporters of the alumni program.
