Your name: Trina Braxton
Name and age of kids: Eric 18; Caleb 15
What do you love most about motherhood?
Just the natural instinct of being a Mom. Watching someone you created grow into an adult is one of the most beautiful experiences ever.
What are three things that no one told you about being a mother?
That watching them grow up would be so hard. I cried the morning of my oldest son’s 18th birthday.
What’s one thing that ever mother-to-be should know?
Enjoy being a Mother and cherish every moment you are able to spend with your children, because becoming a Mom is a Gift.
How do you balance work and motherhood?
Well it’s easier now that they’re of age, but I make sure I talk with them at least twice a day when I am on the road working. We also take advantage of iChat and Skype.
Three words that describe your mothering style?
Open, over-protective and Fun.
What’s the best mother’s day gift you’ve ever received/given?
The best Mother’s Day gift is actually my Children. Waking up on Mother’s Day and just knowing that God has Blessed me with them is all the gift I need.
What family activities does the family do together?
We love to play board games after dinner, and on weekends I cook a large breakfast. We will sit around the living room all morning in our pajamas playing the Wii U.
Where did you vacation last? What’s upcoming?
Our last vacation we checked into the Ritz Carlton right here in Atlanta for an entire week and just relaxed, went shopping and spent an entire day at Six Flags. We had so much fun! The next vacation is in June and we are going to Mexico to celebrate Eric’s graduation from High School.
Do your kids participate in extracurricular activities? If so, which one(s)? Why is this important?
My oldest son Eric is following in our family footsteps with Performing Arts and my youngest son Caleb takes Archery and Krav Maga. I feel it’s important for them to be able to express themselves with activities they enjoy. I feel this keeps them well-rounded and out of trouble.
How do you relax and unwind?
I relax and unwind on a regular basis with a nice warm bubble bath, lit candles, a good book and a glass of wine.
