No. 20 Let’s Do It Again (1975) by the Staple Singers

The soundtrack for the Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier sequel to Uptown Saturday Night, this album was written and produced by the legendary Curtis Mayfield when he was still at the pinnacle of his creative powers, and stands as something of a final grand statement for the celebrated musician before the disco era slowed his momentum. Despite Mayfield’s obvious fingerprints, the star of the record is the inimitable voice of Mavis Staples, who adds sass and sex appeal to Mayfield’s funky compositions.
