Mayor Kasim Reed invites you to become a recycling ambassador for CARTLANTA on Saturday, Aug. 31. You can become an ambassador for the city of Atlanta and help it become one of the top cities for recycling. The city of Atlanta wants to educate residents on not only the importance of recycling but how it helps the economy right here in Atlanta. People do not realize that recycling creates revenue for the the city. For example, they get $30 a ton for recycling and have to pay $35 a ton for trash, so recycling is very important.

As a recycling ambassador, you will receive training on recycling and other sustainable practices. Ambassadors educate residents on the CARTLANTA recycling program and encourage others to recycle more.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, have the ability to inspire and attend a training workshop, host a neighborhood informational workshop, and have access to the Internet.

So come out on this Saturday, Aug. 31 from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. to City Hall, Old Council Chambers, 68 Mitchell St. SW, Atlanta, Ga. 30303. For more information visit, www.CARTLANTA.org. To RSVP email [email protected] or call 404-330-6236.
