Flint, Mich., emcee Jon Connor has been on people’s rap radar for a while now, and with his surprise announcement of signing to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment during last year’s BET cypher, his stock has only gone higher.
But that has not stopped his hunger.
On his Kanye West-inspired mixtape, The Late Registration of a College Dropout Who Had A Dark Twisted Fantasy of 808s and Heartbreak (the mixtape consists of Connor rapping over various West tracks), the hunger in his voice never waivers. Fans of witty wordplay and lyrical dexterity will be pleased with this effort.
