Downtown Chicago’s swanky Ritz Carlton hotel recently played host to the Deputy Premier of Nevis Island, the Honorable Mark A.G. Brantley, as he stopped in town to promote the “high end, yet low key” resort destination to a packed room of writers, bloggers and media types, organized by popular media coordinator, Dwana De La Cerna.

Hidden in the West Indies, not far from Puerto Rico, Nevis is quickly becoming a must do for travelers looking for a exotic, yet off the beaten path locale.

Notable natives and residents of the island include Rupert Crosse (the first African American nominated for an Academy Award as Supporting Actor), Cicely Tyson (both of her parents are from Nevis), and Alexander Hamilton (one of the founding fathers and found on the $10 bill).
