The Soul Train Impact collective recently held its annual panel discussion and showcase at Chicago’s esteemed Columbia College.

Hosted by media personality Monique Spence, the free event was designed to gather industry professionals and those looking to become a part of the industry for a frank discussion and exchange of ideas. This year’s panelists included actress/singer Cynda Williams (Mo Betta Blues), Kenard Gibbs (Soul Train Holdings, LLC), and George Daniels (George’s Music Room).

The night also included a music showcase featuring singer Justin Ruff, rap artist DKNO, Reggie Toran of The Impressions, and soul band Aniba Hotep and The Sol Collective.

Founded by Teena Sloane-Hendricks, the Soul Train Impact event provides a safe haven for young people to express themselves. The event welcomes a multi-generational and multi-cultural interaction between people, all while learning and celebrating the legendary Soul Train. Derived from the original idea of Don Cornelius, the event empowers, uplifts, and excites all while sharing ideas and tools for life, education, and career.
