Nightlife enthusiasts that may be weary of the same rotation of radio hits on the club scene can take solace in the new kid on the block on Tuesday nights in Chicago.
Nostalgia Tuesdays at Bevy is a concept night put together by veteran nightlife curators Joel David Barnes, Lou Baker and DJ Sean Mac. The concept is quite simple: instead of current club bangers, evoke feelings of nostalgia and take the crowd back to a simpler time by spinning hits of yesteryear. Barnes says it’s all a matter of filling a void:
“We started this night to give Chicago something different. Something that connects music with past experiences and fond memories. There is a gap in Chicago nightlife and we wanted to fill that void. Hopefully, we are creating a place where everyone feels safe, has fun and comes out to party together! Nothing like old school hip hop and R&B to unite the city. Big shoutout to Mustafa Rocks and Jay Illa for setting the trend and starting Nostalgia off on the right foot,” he said.
Nostalgia happens every Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Bevy in Chicago.
