Without a doubt, Chris Brown’s never-ending legal dramas and jail stints have created some of the biggest headlines throughout the year and BET now wants to capitalize off of Brown’s fame and give him a reality show chronicling his life post-jail.
According to TMZ, several sources say that BET has informed several production companies that they want Brown to star in a reality show on their network. Many of those production companies have been working to sign Brown to a contract, but a deal has not been signed yet.
The sources say that BET held a focus group, comprised entirely of African Americans, on Tuesday to see if viewers would be interested in a show focused on whether or not Brown can clean up his life after his most recent jail stint.
Although the focus group was divided, most of the participants said that they would watch the show.
We have no doubt either that fans would tune into to see what goes in Brown’s day-to-day life, granted they probably just want to see what crazy antics he gets into. But what reality show isn’t about crazy antics? In any case, if Brown does agree to it, that reality show will likely be a major ratings hit for the network. –nicholas robinson
