Ludacris was honored with the BMI President’s Award at the 2014 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, held at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. The hip-hop star was one of many talented urban songwriters on hand for the glitzy event, which celebrates the songwriters, producers and publishers of the most performed R&B/hip-hop songs of the previous year.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, DJ Mustard and Lil Wayne were also among the night’s big winners. Zendaya took home the BMI Social Star Award, which is determined by fan votes via Twitter. The award salutes the BMI R&B/hip-hop songwriter who has best demonstrated the power of social media as a platform for highlighting their songwriting talents.
