How did you get started in the marketing and PR industry?

I have a degree in business management and communications, but originally working in public relations was not my main focus. I come from an entrepreneurial background, so branding, building companies, and managing portfolios have always been my strong suits. With having the experience it was a passion of mine to start a consulting and marketing company. The clients that I am working with right now include; Pastor Keion Henderson of Lighthouse church, Pro Boxer Antonio Tarver, Jade Gold, The Women’s Health and Fitness Expo, and Allen Powell out of Arizona. Under the Thinkzilla umbrella, our Atlanta office currently represents Special K from the “Ricky Smiley Morning Show.”

What sets you apart from other marketing and branding firms?

It has been known in the media industry that the Houston PR arena does not have a good reputation. The Thinkzilla PR Group is focused on creating good ideas and bringing them to fruition instead a lot of busy talk. Aside from Thinkzilla, I also have my CoCo the CEO brand, which includes my published works: 15 Mega Tips to Triple Your Profits and After the Pivot. My clients are able to benefit from my 60 day success timeline that is discussed in my books. I teach my clients that although you have to be very diverse in this business that does not mean that you have to lose yourself in the process. I learned early on in my career that the corporate community might not take CoCo the CEO seriously, but will be excited to work with Velma Trayham. I encourage my clients to not lose themselves in the corporate sector but to know how to build your brand and market yourself on all levels.

Tell us about The Secret Society Media Awards.

The Secret Society Media Awards is a Red Carpet formal event that will be held Wednesday Sept. 24, at the Hess Club from 6 to 9 p.m. My client Bruce Johnson, founder of the 1000 Men empowerment group is my co-partner for this event. The nominees were selected based on how long they’ve served in their current positions, their influence in the community and community involvement.
