The Funk Fest remains one of the top summer festival tours in the nation. The tour recently made its way to Atlanta’s Wolf Creek Amphitheatre where Erykah Badu, Doug E. Fresh, 8 Ball & MJG, Rakim and Floerty were the headlining acts for day two of the festival.

Backed by a live band, Southern rap duo 8 Ball & MJG performed a slew of their hits from their Suave House days in the early ’90s. Songs that were performed included “Space Age Pimpin,” “Lay It Down” and “Coming Out Hard.” Soul singer Joi joined the group to assist 8 Ball on “My Homeboy’s Girlfriend.” The group closed their show with “On Top of the World.”

Doug E. Fresh followed 8 Ball & MJG and proved why he’s known as the greatest hip-hop entertainer. Fresh kept the crowd engaged by doing his version of the recent hit, “Teach Me How to Dougie,” showing off his impressive beat boxing skills, and performing hits such as “The Show” and “La Di Da Di.”

Erykah Badu closed the show with a mesmerizing performance.
