The 2016 CIAA Tournament weekend is officially underway and the energy in Charlotte, North Carolina, is building as thousands of visitors descend on the city for three days of basketball games, parties, fan activities and seminars. The Charlotte Convention Center is always a popular gathering ground to connect with brands, win prizes and meet celebrities. Rolling out checked in at the McDonald’s booth where tournament goers registered to win Arch cCards and other prizes. DJ Skaz played records on the stage while a host of young and energetic dancers kept the crowd entertained by showing off their moves.
CIAA is a great way for brands to both connect and show appreciation to customers for their loyalty and support throughout the year. This is especially important for McDonald’s as they use this platform to launch their McPick2 for $5 promotion, which will give customers an opportunity to pick from four of its iconic menu items on a national value menu — the Big Mac, crispy 10 piece Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish, and the Quarter Pounder with Cheese. The promotion starts Feb. 29 and this is the first time in the company’s history that they’ve offered all of their classics in a single value promotion.
The McDonald’s booth opens to the public at 5 p.m. every day and offers fans a ton of cool services like the GIF photo booth, social media wall, McPick 2 promotion app download, charging stations, a Wi-Fi lounge, and Twitter frames. At 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, booth host Rock T and Ronald McDonald will host the New Skool vs. Old Skool dance contest. The dance contest will be followed by an appearance from the Dancing Dolls and Ronald McDonald, before Ronald and others from the McDonald’s team head to Hall C for the Greek Step Show with celebrity guest host Diggy Simmons.
