Chrisette Michelle and Carl Payne were in Chicago recently co-starring in the stage play Married But Single. The play also features Lisa Raye-McCoy. Chrisette took an opportunity while in town to have a listening party for her most recent project Milestone. It was also an opportunity for her to celebrate her most recent Ebony cover.

The event was sponsored by Remy Martin and held at Society 2201 on the west side of Chicago. Chrisette’s fans came out ready for a party with Chicago’s finest in the building. Sean Alvarez was the DJ for the evening.

Carl Payne was the first arrive for the evening. After being swarmed for photographs, things finally settled down. Chrisette managed to sneak in; however, once the announcement was made that she was there the audience huddled around the VIP area. Chrisette shouted out Chicago and mentioned how much love she is shown all the time. She cracked open a box of Ebony magazines and began signing them with a silver sharpie. Chrisette’s fiancé, Doug Ellison, took to the DJ booth to play a few selections from Milestone. He played “Steady,” her first single and then a song called “Equal” that features Rick Ross. The song speaks to women being equal to their male counterparts and still being able to remain feminine.

It was an exciting evening. Take a look at a few of the pics below.
