Miller Lite hosted its Business and Beer networking event at Moe’s Cantina in the Chicago. Miller Lite “Tap the Future” is a business plan competition that offers entrepreneurs a chance to win over $200K. Entries are being accepted at MLTapTheFuture.com through April 8. Contestants are participating for the grand prize of $200K. Contestants will have the opportunity to pitch their businesses live in front of Daymond John from ABC’s “Shark Tank” and compete for the grand prize.

Entrepreneur Claudia Telles of Trail Blazing Business, Marco Quintana (vice president and market manager of BMO Commercial Business Banking Division) and Juan Solana of Nielsen were the panelists for the evening. Matt Sapaula of MSNBC’s “The Smart Money Guy” was the host for the evening.

Claudia Telles has been an entrepreneur for five years and she provided this advice to aspiring business owners: “No matter what people tell you, do it now. The best time to start is today. Base your business on what the customer wants and not what you want as an individual and you will be successful.”

We also spoke with one of the contestants, Kayla Latson, who is starting the brand “For Brown Girls Guide.” We asked her why it was important to enter the contest. She said, “I think it’s important to enter the contest out of fun, and as a propelling of networking and getting to know young professionals and millennials and the prizes seem pretty good, as well. Tap the Future is definitely on to something as far as getting people to communicate and mingle. I’m excited to mingle with other entrepreneurs.”

If you have an original business idea and think you can wow the judges, you can go to MLTaptheFuture.com and submit your business plans before April 8.

The live pitch events will take place in Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles.
