They say nothing lasts forever and, unfortunately, that often applies to marriages. And, right now, no celeb knows that truth better than talk show host Aisha Tyler, because new reports have revealed that her husband recently served her with divorce papers.

According to media reports, Aisha Tyler and her husband, Jeff Tietjens, were college sweethearts at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and originally jumped the broom back in 1994. But after more than 20 years of marriage, the couple separated back in January.

Now, reports reveal that Tietjens finally decided to file for divorce in L.A. Superior Court earlier this month.

Although Tietjens cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, some fans are wondering whether the couple’s marriage fell apart over their inability to conceive a child.

On her daytime talk show, “The Talk,” Tyler has been very vocal with audiences about her fertility issues and how the couple was never able to have a child of their own.

“We just decided it wasn’t worth it to go through that and so we decided to stop. It was better to not go through that torture,” she admitted about trying to conceive for two years, which included trying in vitro fertilization.

“After 40, your chances of getting pregnant are between two and eight percent, and in my particular case they were less than five percent,” she said of their struggle with in vitro fertilization.

However, it’s unclear whether that led to the downfall of their union.

Since the couple lives in California, Tietjen could get half of Tyler’s fortune. However, unlike most other celebrity divorces, Tyler and Tietjens seem to want to keep things simple and peaceful. Tietjens has decided not to ask for any financial support, right now, but he has reserved the right to ask for it at a later date.

Sources claim that the couple plans to remain friends in the wake of the divorce.

Our condolences go out to Tyler and Tietjens.
