Malachi Love-Robinson, 19, is back in the news again for running another scam using the elderly. You might remember him as the teen who pretended to be a doctor and opened his own medical office in Florida. He operated the New Birth New Life Holistic and Alternative Medical Center & Urgent Care Center in West Palm Beach and posed as Dr. Malachi Love-Robinson, Ph.D., HHP-C, and AMP-C. Love-Robinson was arrested after giving an undercover police agent a medical exam and medical advice; this was his third time impersonating a healthcare professional. He targeted the elderly and scammed them for thousands of dollars. In one incident, police claim Love-Robinson used the account of Anita Moore, 87, to pay $29,700 for an auto loan on his Nissan. In addition, he also used another $1,800 for his Capitol One credit card bill.
Love-Robinson is currently facing charges that include two counts of practicing medicine without a license, two counts of practice of naturopathy without a license, three counts of forgery, two counts of grand theft from a person 65 or older, and three counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. Now it turns out that while he is awaiting trial on those charges, he was indicted this week by a grand jury for attempting to fraudulently purchase a $35K Jaguar from a dealership in Stafford, Virginia.
According to reports, Love-Robinson went to Kargar Motors in September 2016 accompanied by an elderly woman. He picked out a Jaguar and told the dealership he makes $120K a year and the woman was there to co-sign on the loan. He stated he was a doctor and presented documents which falsified his earnings and the dealership called police. Upon being questioned, the unidentified elderly woman stated she did not agree to co-sign any car loan and police later found Love-Robinson had used her credit card to purchase two iPads. Love-Robinson is scheduled to be arraigned on January 20.
