Just when we thought that Paula Patton and Robin Thicke’s custody battle couldn’t get any uglier …

The actress accused her ex-husband of “excessive spanking” of their 6-year-old son, Julian. “I received a call from Julian’s school … from [the] Principal and Mediator … they advised as to comments and statements Julian made to them about the way [Thicke] hits and punishes him in private,” Patton claimed in court documents. “I confirmed that I had been hearing the same things and that I did not know how to handle and was very concerned.[The] principal and [mediator] called Department of Child and Family Services on Jan. 4, 2017, to report their concerns about [Thicke’s] abuse of Julian.”

Meanwhile, the “Blurred Lines” crooner denied all claims, suggesting that Patton’s claims were meant to punish him for neglecting to invite her to his father Alan Thicke’s funeral. “It is my belief that Paula holds residual anger toward me because I and my family would not permit her or her family to attend the funeral of my father on Dec. 20, 2016,” the singer alleged in his response. “Paula did not have a positive relationship with my father … As such, she was not welcome at his funeral. It is my belief that Paula only wanted to attend because it would have resulted in additional public exposure for her.”

Still, according to new reports, claims of abuse were enough for a Los Angeles courtroom to rule in Patton’s favor, for now. As of Thursday, Jan. 26, a judge has granted temporary sole custody to Patton and issued a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Thicke, which orders him to stay away from her, their son and her mother, E! News reports.

In fact, there was a specific finding by the judge solidifying Patton’s claims that Thicke “has a history of domestic violence,” including instances when Thicke “kicked, pushed and hit petitioner with an open fist,” her recent declaration states.

Meanwhile, Thicke has yet to respond. In the meantime, there will be further proceedings in the next three months. What are your thoughts on Thicke being stripped of his custodial rights? Sound off in the comment section below.
