“My baby girl @RileyBurruss is releasing her song “Better Late Than Never” this Sunday! Please support & spread the word. I’m super excited for her! #BLTN#betterlatethannever,” Kandi Burruss writes on her Instagram account on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017.
On the track, Riley, 14, talks about forgiveness. “I built up a brick wall. It’ll be hard to tear down. Better late than never is what they say. So I guess I forgive you, even though you missed my birthday. I’m forgiving you even though you hurt me. I’m forgiving you, but you don’t deserve it.”
We can just about assume this is a song intended for her father, Russell “Block” Spencer, who made an appearance on this season’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
In an interview with The Daily Dish, Kandi shared, “For me, that was never anything I want to exploit, the relationship between my daughter and her father, because they really don’t have a relationship, and he really hasn’t been around pretty much her whole life. We’ll hear from him, and then we don’t hear from him for a year. Then we’ll hear from him, then a couple years go by, then you hear from him. It’s never been consistent communication or anything.”
