Making a name for yourself in the music industry can take decades. In most cases, it’s all about who you know and being in the right place at the perfect time. There’s a relentless hustle you have to possess in order to get to the winner’s circle, especially since the business is no longer a free-for-all in terms of employment. An upward side to your chances of landing your dream gig is that a 10 percent increase in the number of music jobs in the U.S. has been projected through 2020, according to The Bureau of Labor Statistics.
