Laura Govan's home ransacked; burglars make off with $700K

“Basketball Wives LA” alum Laura Govan’s San Fernando, California home was robbed of more than $700k in cash and jewelry, TMZ reports. According to the entertainment site, the incident occurred while Govan was away on vacation in May.

In addition to making off with a Rolex watch valued at $50k, more than $615k in jewelry and about $98k in cash, Govan told police that the burglars ransacked her home, including smashing a window and destroying family belongings, which were tossed about the floor.

Unfortunately for NBA star Gilbert Arenas’ famous ex, she reportedly deactivated the security system so a neighbor could easily access the property to tend to her dog.

Meanwhile, a neighbor told cops he heard the dog barking one night around 1 a.m., but didn’t think much of it. Govan revealed that a doorbell that has motion sensors detected activity around 12:44 a.m. one of the nights she was away. Authorities have made no arrests or named any suspects in the investigation as of Friday, June 2. In other words, like many recent Hollywood home invasions, it appears as though authorities have another cold case on their hands.

In case you missed it, the Oakland-born reality star made headlines last week when she appeared on an episode of OWN’s “Iyanla: Fix My Life.” During her sit down with the popular life coach, Govan shocked fans, when she admitted that she suspected Arenas was intimate with her younger sister Gloria. As fans know far too well, Gloria has had her fair share of boy trouble, including a love triangle with former Los Angeles Lakers baller Derek Fisher and ex Matt Barnes, who she shares two children with.

Govan said of her relationship with Arenas, ‘We started dating and it was great, and then I introduced him to my family and in a short period of time it went south, real fast.’

Then she dropped the bomb: “I believe that he shared a relationship with my sister.”
