“Black-ish”
A family man, Dre Johnson, (Anthony Anderson) struggles to gain a sense of cultural identity while raising his Black family in a predominantly White, upper middle-class neighborhood. Starring Tracee Ellis Ross as “Bow,” — the eccentric, bubbly, loving mother of three — the hit series has tackled subjects such as police brutality, politics, racial stereotyping, interracial relationships, even the birds and the bees. The show has been so successful, that standout star Yara Shahidi — Johnson’s eldest daughter Zoey — landed a spin-off series titled “College-ish.” The 13-episode freshman season will follow the social butterfly as she heads off to college and quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest.
