The tale of Keaton Jones, 11, and his plea against school bullies took another turn towards strange as more info comes out about his parents. Within the past week, it was learned that Keaton was actually bullying a Black student by calling him the n-word and other students began defending the bullied student. Apparently, the students talked so bad about Keaton and his family that they made him cry, which led to the now infamous Facebook video.
Then it was revealed that his distraught mother, Kimberly Jones, is a money grubbing, White supremacist, who posted pictures of herself with confederate flags and made insensitive racist comments. She later stated to media, “I feel like anybody who wants to take the time to ask anybody who I am or even troll through some other pictures, I mean I feel like we’re not racist … It was meant to be ironic and funny … I am genuinely truly sorry. If I could take it back, I would.”
Many were wondering where was Keaton’s father during all this mess and why he had not spoken out. According to the media outlet Daily Mail, the reason is that Keaton’s dad, Shawn White, has been in prison since May 2015 for a probation violation related to a 2012 aggravated assault conviction. In addition, White is an avowed skinhead racist with tattoos that read “Pure Breed” and “White Pride” and according to prison officials is a member of the Aryan Circle, one of the largest White supremacist gangs in US prisons. Also, White has a Facebook page that has racist memes and White supremacist propaganda posts going back for some time.
If Keaton was in fact bullied, people should have sympathy for him. But even if Keaton started the bullying and used the n-word, people should still have sympathy for him because he really does not know better. He is a product of his parents’ hateful ideology.
