White Americans were recently confronted with the same type of racism that has been exemplified by them for decades — and, not surprisingly, Caucasians were outraged.
Social media star Frederick Joseph engineered a social experiment to see how White Americans would respond to having the faux Washington Caucasians thrown in their faces since they’ve had no problem wearing the NFL’s Washington Redskins jerseys for decades.
Joseph wore a T-shirt around the streets of New York with a play on the controversial logo that replaced the team’s name with “Caucasians” and featured the profile of a white man in place of the NFL team’s Native American mascot. White Americans got as hot as fish grease when it was splashed in their faces, finding out that naked racism burns like acid.
Despite knowing Native Americans have been boycotting the Redskins’ logo for seemingly forever and refusing to give up the offensive team name, they got mad when the tables were turned.
Joseph claims he was called an a–hole for wearing the shirt with a White man’s face, labeled “disrespectful” and a group of angry White men attempted to “approach” him over it.
The writer, humanitarian and speaker chronicled his experience via Twitter:
Frederick Joseph is the same social media aficionado who launched the wildly popular #BlackPantherChallenge campaign that raised almost $1M to send underprivileged children to see the Marvel superhero movie. He was recently honored by Comic-Con as the Man of the Year for his work sending 75K urban children to the see the all-time highest grossing comic film in history.
But Joseph took it to another level with the play on the Redskins.
Joseph is asking others to join him in this latest social media experiment.
Joseph added that you should be aware of the conflict that might arise if you take up this challenge.
