Lyft partners with 6LACK and LVRN for exclusive listening party

Atlanta-based R&B and rap artist 6LACK just launched his new album and he held a private listening party at the Starlight Drive-In in East Atlanta for special friends and fans. 6LACK partnered with Lyft giving riders a chance to receive a free ride to the event by using the code 6LACK for a wonderful riding experience in a luxury Lyft car. Upon arrival, each car was given an assigned spot at the drive-in where riders waited patiently in anticipation of the artist’s arrival.

Once 6LACK arrived, he thanked everyone for showing up and for their continued support and asked them to return to their vehicles and tune into the drive-in’s radio station. Guests were able to listen to every song on the album. Rolling out interviewed 6LACK before the listening session began.

“We are so impressed with Lyft’s ability and eagerness to help us bring this vision to life. We are providing 6LACK’s fans with the most intimate album experience we could [have] ever imagined,” said Sean Famoso, co-founder and head of marketing-brand for LVRN.

In celebration of the album, 6LACK will also take over Lyft’s app on Sept. 21.

How excited are you about everything that’s taking place in your career right now?

I’m never going to get used to this because this is always going to be like a weird thing for me because I come from where I’m always trying to figure this out. I’m overwhelmed yet I am humble and I’m ready for this. Right now, I’m just ready to listen to the music.

What advice would you give to an up-and-coming rapper in this city on starting from the ground up?

When you think you got it figured it out, do more work. When you feel like you got figured out, then do some more work. When you get comfortable, do some more work. When you make some accomplishments and you get some stuff done, do some more work then too. Just keep going and don’t ever give up.

What was one of the craziest things you have ever done for love?

Go to college for one whole year just to be with my girlfriend. Didn’t do anything that entire year, no school work, no music. Just spent all my time with her. Realized I didn’t get s— done that whole year. [I] realized I wasn’t supposed to be there, dropped out changed my life and here I am today.
