Revered rapper Nipsey Hussle’s official death certificate has been released to the public and also reveals his official marital status at the time he died.
To no one’s surprise, Hussle’s death has been attributed to gunshot wounds to the head and torso, according to The Blast. He was officially pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019, about 35 minutes after the shooting outside The Marathon Clothing store he owned on the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue.

Two other men were shot at the time, but they have survived their injuries.
As has been previously reported, reputed gang member Eric Holder has been arrested and officially charged with killing Nipsey in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles on March 31, 2019.
The death certificate states that Nipsey’s occupation was an artist and entrepreneur. It also says he was not married at the time of his death, TMZ reports, which has been the source of intense speculation and debate in the week-and-a-half since he was slain. Many fans swore that Nipsey and girlfriend Lauren London exchanged nuptials in a low-key ceremony.
The news comes as the Los Angeles Times reports that the parents of Nipsey broke their silence about the brilliant visionary and multifaceted businessman who happened to be their son.
Nipsey’s mother, Angelique Smith, said Nipsey exemplified brilliance early on and requested to be placed in advanced classes in school.
“He recognized at an early age his own capability,” she said of her boy, born Ermias Asghedom. “His own potential. He has always known.”
Nipsey’s father, Dawit Asghedom, takes comfort in his belief that Nipsey had completed his God-inspired task on earth. “It was like he was sent by God to give some love to bring us together because that’s what his lyrics were saying, always,” he explained. “He’s not shy to tell the truth even though it might not look good. He wasn’t scared of anything. [God] sent him to send a message.”
And once that message was delivered, Asghedom said, God said it was his son’s time to leave this earthly realm. “So he had completed what he needed to be doing and he did it early so [God] probably want to take him early too.”
Nipsey’s girlfriend, Lauren London, 34, was with Nipsey’s family and gave this heartfelt tribute: “I’m going to keep my head high and always represent for my king to the fullest,” says London, who shares a 2-year-old son, Kross, with Nipsey. “He loved his kids. He was a family man. His family came first.”
Nipsey will be officially memorialized at the gold standard of Los Angeles venues, the Staples Center, on Thursday, April 11, 2019, and buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Candlelight vigils have and continue to be held across the globe.
Finally, Nipsey will receive a grand sendoff, ala Martin Luther King and other beloved leaders. The family of the slain rapper is facilitating a procession through the streets of L.A. following the ceremony at the Staples Center.
