With the much of his wealth tied up with his sexual assault trial defense, R. Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea “Drea” Kelly told him to make tacos at a fast-food joint in order to make his monthly child support payments, according to TMZ.
It is widely known that Robert Sylvester Kelly’s finances have dwindled to a pittance of what they once were since the airing of the “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries six months ago.
But the 52-year-old “Step in the Name of Love” singer hardly gets any sympathy from his former spouse or their children.
Drea Kelly, 45, and daughter Buku Abi went in on the singer.
“I don’t care if you’re gonna become the first King of R&B to work at Del Taco,” Drea Kelly said.
His daughter Buku declared she doesn’t “need” Kelly’s coins. Nevertheless, she said her father is still on the hook for the child support payments until she turns 23 years old.
When R. Kelly got wind of Drea Kelly’s comments, the heated singer told TMZ to say that she should be the one flipping burgers at a fast-food restaurant to take care of her kids.
He also told TMZ that she only uses the child support payments to live an upscale lifestyle. As a parting shot, he added that she should go out and get a job if she wants to continue to live like that.
