What inspired you to write this book?
I was inspired to write this book because prayer is at the root of everything I do. The power of prayer and communication with the Lord has played an integral role in my life, and I desired to create that impact for others beyond myself.
What is the story behind the title?
I encountered an abundance of people who expressed that they had no idea how to speak to God, and therefore myself and others created Soulful Prayers as a way to help guide others in prayer and inspire consistent and intentional communication with the Lord.
How does the book address life challenges?
The book contains 52 co-authors and therefore contains an assortment of prayers that touch on challenges of finances, loss, unforgiveness, marriage and so much more. Each author used their unique experiences to create prayers that have impacted their life, and will also impact others who are dealing with the same circumstances.
Name three things the reader should walk away with from the book.
When the reader finishes the book, they will know that prayer is necessary, prayer is powerful, and prayer is truly an intentional conversation with God.
What advice can you offer women who desire to be a playwright or author?
My advice for a woman who desires to be a playwright or author is to just start writing. Stop allowing yourself to hold you back from the life that God has ordained for you and chase your dreams fearlessly and with purpose.
What books have most impacted your life or work as a writer?
Faith in the Marketplace by Bill Winston, Profit First by Mike Michalowicz, The Richest Man Who Ever Lived by Steven K. Scott, and The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson have all impacted my life.
What was the hardest part of completing this project?
The hardest part of completing this project was the co-authors having to relive the experiences that brought about their prayers and then working through those challenges in order to write the book.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything about your latest work?
I wouldn’t change a thing because I have already seen the impact in the lives of the co-authors who made this project come to life.
What’s next for you?
I am an executive producer in the upcoming short film, Illegal Rose, and the upcoming thriller film Season of the Witches, which is being shot in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I will also be releasing the books: Soulful Prayers, Soul Talk Vol. 3, Soulful Prayers Vol.2, and The Power of Affirmations.
