A$AP Rocky‘s accuser in his assault case in Sweden is using a witness to corroborate his version of the events, but that witness has just been arrested for felony shoplifting himself.
According to TMZ, Mustafa Jafari is the aggressive fan who suffered the brutal beatdown in Stockholm at the end of May 2019 and is now relying on a witness who was recently arrested himself.
But Jafari’s witness, Dawod Hosseini, who is scheduled to testify against A$AP Rocky (aka Rakim Mayers), has an outstanding criminal arrest matter himself that has not been resolved. In fact, he was arrested two weeks after Rocky was and remains in police custody.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Hosseini was busted stealing two expensive jackets from a clothing store on July 19. Police also found a knife on Hoisseini’s person. His credibility as a reliable witness will most certainly be called into question by A$AP Rocky’s defense team.
But the court system will reportedly put Hosseini’s legal matter to the side for now while he participates in A$AP Rocky’s prosecution.
There is also the confusing matter about Jafari being captured on video striking A$AP’s bodyguard in the head with a set of headphones, which precipitated his pummeling. Prosecutors decided that Jafari only hit the bodyguard out of self-defense and therefore did not arrest Jafari. But if he was legally defending himself against the bodyguard, why did prosecutors let A$AP Rocky’s bodyguard go free?
A$AP Rocky, meanwhile, faces up to two years in prison if convicted of assault. He pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
