Brandt Jean’s ability to forgive convicted murderer Amber Guyger for killing his older brother stunned and dumbfounded observers who took to Twitter and other social media platforms to convey their awe.
One person commented under the ABC News video on YouTube: “In Brandt’s shoes I don’t think I could ever forgive the person who took away one of my siblings, but it’s clear that Mr. and Mrs. Jean raised two fantastic young men. This young man has a beautiful heart.”
Tymesha Coleman added: “This man has a personal relationship with God and it’s real, that’s why he can forgive. He is a very strong young man and he made that devil mad today … I’ll never forget this glory be to God.”
One person on Twitter, however, asked bluntly: “How are we supposed to forgive this s—?”
In times when Jesus’ name gets thrown around so much that people have grown cynical, #BrandtJean gets it. He is what Jesus looks like. #BothamJean

I’m not religious but I consider myself spiritual. I believe this is the epitome of what Jesus was trying to teach us. Going back even further to the Ten Commandments. Love thy neighbor. This is an example of a great human. #AmberGuygerTrial #BothamJean #BrandtJean https://t.co/H5qtF4jLOK
