Grammy-certified singer Tarrey Torae provides love, healing and soul with music

What two things can you share that you’ve learned from failure or from being uncomfortable?

I have had many twists and turns in my music career. Two things I’ve learned in hindsight is that no matter what happens, know that it will always be ok. In addition, what I’ve essentially learned is that there is no such thing as a failure only a lesson and that all growth comes with a little discomfort.

As a woman historymaker, what do you want your legacy to be?

I hope that I have left this world better than I received it. I hope that my music lays down a positive path for singers to follow … after me. I hope that my music helps to make people dance until they pass out and make love until the sun rises for a month of Sundays. I am thinking that legacy lies more in helping people feel better so that they can continue in this world with a smile on their face.
