Nonprofit Soul Reborn shifts focus to support frontline workers during pandemic

Together, Polote-Williamson and Guimont served 551 meals to frontline workers at MD Kids Pediatrics in Dallas; Dallas VA Medical Center; Vibra Specialty Hospital at Desoto in Desoto, Texas; Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas; and the Dallas traffic and SWAT patrols. The smiles and gratitude they received from those they served only made her want to do more, Polote-Williamson said.

“My goal was a thousand meals by the end of the month. But after I saw those smiles, I was compelled to push it to 2,000.”

Though the meals were more than appreciated, Polote-Williamson took it a step further and distributed nearly 200 of her inspirational books between the different drop-off locations.

Polote-Williamson thanks the Soul Reborn board members and the Affirmed Book Group, as well as Police Chief U. Renee Hall and the various unit captains for their cooperation and support. She also thanks Dallas Mavericks’ CEO Cynt Marshall for personally purchasing an additional 100 copies of her inspirational books to help encourage frontline workers.
