Rapper Losk33 shares why it’s important to be different

Virginia is an area with a rich musical history. How has that helped to inform what you do?

Basically, I had to figure everything out by myself. Coming from Virginia is inspiring and I try to build my own sound and image. For me, it’s important to be different and versatile. I could come from another place than Virginia and still be the true Losk33.

Your new joint “Lord Have Mercy” featuring Foogiano is a banger. How did that song come together?

We were vibing in the studio working on the track. Foogiano walked in after he heard a certain part of the song. He immediately wanted to get on it and that was a wrap from there. The beat was made by Mercy Beatz. You can feel the chemistry we had on the track.

What would you say is an artist’s responsibility?

I look at everything as my responsibility. I just have people in place to control what I put in play. It’s our job to put our own team together. Artists inspire, and people listen to what we have to say. It’s a huge responsibility to use our voice and reach the right way.
