Why is it important to expose children to education and valuable skills?

Skills build confidence and that is key in every aspect of life, particularly for Black kids who have to navigate this country. Knowledge is power, and we try to expose them to a wide range of music, art, books, and sports as well as learning tools that are reflective of the real world. Part of education is teaching our kids to value hard work and helping shape them into good humans.


What insightful advice would you suggest about building a network?

Good relationships take work. As a father, my time is crucial. I only have time to build organic long-term meaningful relationships.


Name one life lesson that no one taught you but should have.

Sometimes the bumps in the road are just as valuable as the easy wins.

You are exactly where you’re meant to be.

Share one of your fondest memories of an experience you had with your father, grandfather or father figure.

One of my fondest memories of an experience I had with my father were the times he took me skating at Skatetown, East San Jose, California.
