No one will ever accuse Boosie Badazz of being shy. The audacious emcee took audacity to another level when he publicly pleaded for Vice President Kamala Harris to free imprisoned rapper C-Murder.
Boosie posted a video to his new Instagram page to petition the conscience of Harris. He is hoping to cajole Harris into making some legal moves to finally wrangle C-Murder from a life sentence. He was convicted of murder for the shooting death of Steve Thomas near New Orleans. C-Murder has been incarcerated since 2002, though he wasn’t convicted until 2009.
“So … Kamala Harris, I’m asking you to help my friend C-Murder bro,” Boosie began. Boosie, 38, is the latest celebrity to advocate for C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller. This includes his famous brother Master P, neé Percy Miller, his former girlfriend and singer Monica, and Kim Kardashian.
Boosie believes C-Murder was railroaded because his stage moniker matches the crime that he was accused of, along with the prosecution’s and jury’s aversion to rap music.
“As president, vice president … I feel like you and Biden can do something about it. This man is innocent. You know… he’s completely innocent, and he was convicted because of, ya know, his rap name and the success of No Limit records,” Boosie said to his 360K followers.
“So, this goes out to Kamala Harris. I need you to look into this man and see this injustice and turn this around. This man got kids. It’s almost 20 years of his life that’s been taken away … you know. So I’m reaching out to Vice President Kamala Harris to look into the C-Murder situation bro. It’s sad, bro.”
Do you believe it is time that C-Murder’s case gets a legitimate review?
