What President Joe Biden had to say after Ahmaud Arbery’s killers were convicted

Biden ended the statement with an oath to pursue a future of equality.

“My administration will continue to do the hard work to ensure that equal justice under law is not just a phrase emblazoned in stone above the Supreme Court, but a reality for all Americans,” the statement concluded.

The 46th President’s support of the justice system resulted in some public backlash earlier in the same week Arbery’s killers were convicted. On Nov. 19, after Kyle Rittenhouse, a White male who shot and killed two White people and wounded a third at a Black Lives Matter protest in August 2020, was found not guilty on all counts after his defense team argued self-defense.

Biden supported that jury’s decision as well.

“I stand by what the jury has concluded,” Biden told reporters in a video posted by ABC News. “The jury system works and we have to abide by it.”
