CHICAGO – Molson Coors yesterday announced a $1.5 million donation to a network of North American organizations that are dedicated to creating pathways for diverse and low-income students seeking degrees related to careers in brewing. This donation is part of Molson Coors’ Celebrate Tomorrow initiative that supports 39 nonprofit organizations in the company’s brewery hometowns and corporate-office locations.

One-third of this year’s contribution will fund completion grants and scholarships, providing aid to diverse and low-income students working toward college degrees. Various measures will be implemented, including emergency grants, scholarships, mentorship programs, opportunities for hands-on learning, skill development and workforce application. Completion grants will be distributed to technical institutes and educational programming in Chicago, Colorado and Milwaukee via partnerships with One Million Degrees, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Community College of Aurora Foundation, Denver Scholarship Foundation and Emily Griffith Foundation.

In 2022, support through completion grants aided nearly 500 low-income and diverse students from funds allocated to 22 different institutions across Chicago, Denver and Milwaukee, enabling students to complete their certification or degree.

“Our 2023 investment marks another important milestone in our journey toward an equitable and inclusive future across our North American hometowns, and that is worth celebrating,” said Michael Nordman, senior manager of community affairs, Molson Coors. “By offering the support to participate in educational and career opportunities, we are helping to foster the next generation of diverse and low-income leaders and create a pipeline of talent to Molson Coors and other industries like ours.”

In addition to offering a second year of support for completion grants, this year, Molson Coors created endowed scholarships totaling $75,000 in the company’s Albany, GA and Trenton, OH brewery communities. These funds will support diverse and low-income students seeking degrees related to careers in brewing. Through investments at Butler Tech and Albany State University, Molson Coors continues to grow the pipeline of diverse talent inside and outside the brewing sector.

Since this program’s inception, more than $6 million has been donated to support nearly 60 organizations across the U.S. and Canada. Beyond the Celebrate Tomorrow initiative, Molson Coors’ social impact initiatives partner with organizations that aim to improve livelihoods, build resilient communities and empower the next generation of leaders.
